Happy Mother's Day
My dad sent me this video and I've seen a few people share it on facebook. It's a great 2 minute tribute to moms everywhere! I'm so glad we have this holiday to do a little something special for the mom(s) in our life.
Today I was thinking about my mom and I thought- she's such a GOOD person. Out of every person I know on the same level as I know her, she's the best. My dad is a close second ;) In fact, I feel like she's pretty close to perfect. She hasn't worked outside the home since the day she became a mom (except piano lessons), but yet she is always SO busy doing stuff for everyone but herself. She puts all of her 5 children's (plus husband) wants and needs before her own. As a selfish kid, I thought that was just her job. How dare she do what she wants! But that's why I like growing up. You realize so much more. You see the big picture. I really hope I can be as good of a mom to my kids. She has so many skills and talents and taught me so much. She taught me to be honest when I would take things from the store as a kid-she'd bring me back to return it. She taught me to love the truth and goodness of the gospel of Jesus Christ through her great example of how important it is in her life. She taught me to sew and helped me sew a few dresses when I was in 5th grade! (even though i'm still not very good). She taught me to play the piano. And she taught me to put others before myself, which I'm also still working on :). I love my mom so much and can't wait to see her in October when my baby is born and her showing me how to be a mom.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas out there!

Myrtle Beach for our Anniversary!
We went ahead and celebrated our anniversary over the weekend. We went down to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, which was double exciting because I got to check South Carolina off my states list! I love having an anniversary, because really it's just another reason to have fun and celebrate, and who hates that?!
Also, I would like to brag about my bargain hunting skills for getting hotels. I'm kind of the best at it. I may not be good at singing, or sports, or those other normal talents, but gosh darn it- I can find a deal! Just ask my family.
Got fancied up for a fancy dinner. (You have to document those times you actually are not wearing pants! and a necklace!-thats a rarity around here)
And more beaching!

This couple was sitting in front of us, and I couldn't help but think-I hope that's us in 40 years!

2 years
"You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known-and even that is an understatement."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald.
And I'd like to add the that, most adventurous, funnest, silliest, awesomest person ever.
It really has been 2 wonderful whirlwind years. Never thought I'd be living in a hotel in North Carolina 2 years ago today. But that's ok, because I never know what's in store and I like that sense of adventure!
I LOVE YOU DUKE MCCRORY!!!

My Little Brother's Wedding
Last Saturday my little brother Tyler got married to Hannah Lim in the Seattle temple. It was such a sweet and wonderful wedding. Maybe the first time I've seen Tyler shed tears since he was a little lad. I'm so glad they found each other and I really love the girl he married. She is awesome and so is her whole family. Weddings are just so much fun! Especially when it's immediate family. Just the BEST. And now let the photo dump begin! (And thanks to my Aunt Shirleen for some of these pictures!)
My family! (minus Duke who couldn't be there)
SO happy some of my cousins were able to come!
We had a good ol' time decorating the car
See all those cans^? I got a text from Tyler that said "I don't know how many cans there were, but when we got to the hotel there was only one left." Ha.

My cousins son Greyson- I really wanted to take him home with me!

Anniversary Celebration
Our anniversary is actually tomorrow, but we decided to take the weekend to celebrate! We went down to the Redneck Riveria aka Destin, FL. I love Destin. We've vacationed in this area my whole life so it's a little sentimental place too. I'm always overwhelmed by the beauty of Destin every time I go. It's so beautiful!! If you haven't been, you NEED to go!!!
My recommendations are to check out the gator farm at Fudpuckers and to invest in some cheap floaties. My food recommendations are Vinij Wine Bistro, Cuvee Bistro and Donut Hole Cafe. I don't know how it was my first time to go to Donut Hole-but I thought their donuts were bomb. (We love food if you can't tell)
It was a great weekend. I love celebrating love!!
