Happy Day

I have exciting news! I got a job working as a dance teacher at Tippi Toes Dance Company!! I'm so happy about it. Can I tell you why?

I graduated in Dec 2010--2 years ago. Since then, I've really struggled to find a job I enjoy. I've had GOOD jobs, but never a job that I've felt "fulfilled" or particularly looked forward to. It's been extra hard due to moving 3 times in those 2 years and being stuck to the location where the military has taken us. It got a little depressing from time to time. I had basically decided that I was doomed to little jobs here and there following Duke around until we had kids-and hopefully being a mother would give me that fulfillment. I really hadn't even thought about being a dance teacher until I saw the job listing,  but the second I saw it I knew it was PERFECT for me. Absolutely perfect. I get to move around while I work, work with cute kids, dance, have fun, and those are all things I love.

I'm really, really excited about this opportunity and can't wait to start. Yay!

Latest

The latest news is that I got a job! Which is great because I can now check off one of my new years resolutions! Today was my second day and so far I'm enjoying it! It's at a place called Landrum Staffing, an employment resources place. I help out with the contract we have with GE. It's a lot easier than my previous job, but still busy. And it's full time, so it's back to the grind!

In other news, Winston has officially graduated puppy school!!! I'm so proud of him. There are definitely still areas of improvement, but he's learned a lot. We've already enrolled him in Intermediate classes..he's gonna be the best-trained puppy around! (hopefully)

Also Jcrew spring stuff is out and i'm extremely excited!!! (even though my clothing budget can barely buy me 1 item)

PS I also redesigned my blog header using my novice Illustrator skills I've learned from Nicole's Classes and I"m somewhat proud of myself!

woot woot!

Tonight I took one look at my blog and I almost had to vomit. It was pretty gross looking. Hopefully most of you were reading it in google-reader or something for your eyes sake. So I just spent the last who knows how long trying to redeem it. Its very plain-jane right now, but much more easy on the eyes. Oh how I wish i was a designer. Actually it is my secret plan to go back to school very soon here and get another degree in graphic design...or at least take a bunch of graphic design classes. I love design...I just need some professional help with it.

That reminds me I kinda got a job! I'm interning right now at Stephen Hales Creative (free labor) and Stephen Hales teaches history of graphic design at BYU and needed a TA, and guess who got the job! yahoo! I can only work 3-4 hours a week for $8.50/hr which means at MOST I could make $34/week. But i'm happy. $34 more dollars a week than I would have otherwise!

The latest

First off I would like to officially welcome spring with open arms. Ive been a busy luttle bee lately. School is going well and is 4 weeks from coming to a close. Still totally unsure about what I'm going to be doing in the spring/summer, but I've got 4 weeks to figure that out.

I started interning at a place here in Provo called plaid video marketing, they speacialize in social media. It's pretty rad.

My boy moved yesterday to Washington dc. He's doing marines officer training. He is hard core. and awesome. And maybe like the best bf ever. Haha cheesy, sorry. But I miss him.

It's been a really good semester. I love life right now. I'll post some pics soon.

Bat Day

So i'm at work right now and I just got up to innocently go into the kitchen and get a drink. The light was off and I noticed something on the ground but it just looked like a leaf. So I turn the light on and walk over to the fridge and I look back and its like this little, baby bat. Like a bat that lives in caves and flies around. So i'm like...hmm, thats weird. And then I see its ears moving and its like breathing and it starts CRAWLING. So here I am stuck in the kitchen (because it's blocking the door) and of course I'm freaking out because all I can picture is this bat taking flight and then attacking me! Basically, I saw my life flash before my eyes. So once it started crawling the other direction I made a run for it and escaped untouched.

But Heather, Heidi and I are still freaking out because there is a BAT on the loose! So we run over to the tell our landlords about our problem. Then Spencer apparently scooped it up in a box and just comes walking over with it, like no big deal. So luckily we got rid of it without any casualties, but the question is...how did it get in and are there more?
