Provo Utah Girls aka California Gurls by Mormons. I found it pretty entertaining, however if you never lived in Utah you may find it weird and creepy.

life is crazzzzzzzzzzzy
I feel like the busiest person in the world right now. My days consist of going to work, planning a wedding, desperately trying to squeeze in a workout or seeing friends, and sleeping. The last couple weeks have been a good whirlwind though. I was able to go to Utah for a whole week! I worked on wedding stuff the whole time of course. Went to my friend Rachel's wedding, which was beautiful! And got to spend time with Brittany, Jules, Tyler and my other lovely friends in Utah. It was great. Here is a summary in pictures:

wedding update
We do have a date! August 27 we will be getting married in this pretty building:

Then a reception in my uncles backyard in cedar hills to follow!
This week I'm actually in Utah, visiting my sister, working on wedding plans and going to a friends wedding on Saturday! And although it was 49 degrees and raining yesterday (this is not an exaggeration) I'm happy to be here! I'm crossing my fingers for 70 degrees today. I got my wedding dress yesterday! Altered and ready to go! Happy about that, feels like I'm finally making some progress. Since I've been here I've also eaten at Red Iguana (yummy), yogurtland, took my ring to be resized (weird not wearing it), went shopping with my sister (and left with nothing), and visited my grandpas grave (memorial day).
I'm also very excited to be off work this week! Even though I woke up at 730 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep (my body is trained well). And I'm still the only one up...funny how things change!
Now I've just got to plan everything else for the wedding and I'll be good! 87 days!

random mid-month post
I would like to announce that today was officially my first pool day of the year. The slight overcast wasn't enough to stop me. Today was pretty great. Sold back my books and got a whopping $52. laid out at the pool with some amigas for a few, worked on my portfolio, Went for a run, Went to target, got some new running attire... just kinda did my thing. No class, no work, no nothing.
After a few presentations Monday and Tuesday I'll be school-free until august. As completely ecstatic as i am that warm weather is finally here, I seriously, can't believe it's summer again. It is blowing my mind.
Rrandom thoughts for the day:
-I just had my half birthday, which means i'm closer to 24 than 23 now. It sounds so adult-ish. when did i grow up?? weird.
-If you live in Provo and haven't been to The Chocolate, you are really missing out on life. Its pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to me. Their "cazookie" (aka pazookie") is amaaazing. It's in this cute little house on state street and the inside is decorated adorable. Here's some pics:
-I currently have an unhealthy obsession with stripes. I have a few striped shirts, but I every time I shopping, I'm drawn to them like a magnet.
-Another food item obsession: Fiber Plus Antioxidant bars. OMG. I'm obsessed. I started buying Fiber One bars to eat for breakfast on the days I was running late. They're ok, but not amazing. Then I discovered these other bars. They're the same calorie count, same amount of fiber, same price, but are seriously so much better. The flavors are better and they actually taste like a granola bar. If you are a fan of either Fiber One bars or granola bars in general I highly recommend you give these a try. You can't go wrong with the peanut butter/chocolate chip bar. YUM

Love Is Not Blind
Blind dates and Provo, UT. Its almost like Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Let me give you a general rundown of how this tends to happen. One day, you're innocently chatting it up with a friend, coworker, cousin, whoever, who is more than likely married or in a serious relationship. Everything is going well and the line comes: "I have someone I want to set you up with". Oh hell. But usually you smile and say: "oh really? who?"
Now it gets tricky. You know this person has your best intentions in mind. And although you're prefectly content being single and really not looking for anyone, they are just trying to help. Common mistake. So as to not hurt any feelings, cause awkwardness, and really because you have no reason not to, you agree to being set up.
I have gone on my fair share of blind dates. I'm not sure why...but people just LOVE to set me up! Now, i'm not saying they have all been horrible. I've gone out with guys who are super nice, super great, they just aren't my type, there's no spark and I can't pretend like there is. My question is how can there be? You just met in a forced manner. Its awkward and so unnatural. You're total strangers, so you act in a way that is appropriate which is very surface-level-almost fake-blah blah blah. Needless to say, i've never had a blind date that turned into anything more.
So recently, my boss wanted to set me up with his neighbor. I decided to take my boss's advice and play a little "joke" on the guy. We go up to Sundance and ride the ski lifts, just chat it up and what not. Then we go to CPK and the following conversation takes place:
Now that is funny. I think I pulled it off nicely and when he dropped me off I told him it was a joke. But I figured, so long as I'm going on these dates, I might as well have a little fun with it!

Date: "what's one thing that people might not know about you?"
Me: "well...I have a kid." *His eyes widen and maybe stops breathing for 1/2 a second
Me: "yeah...it was a long time ago, I was young...he lives with his dad back in arkansas and so I see him when I go home in the summers and over christmas. I wanted to give him up for adoption, but the father wanted custody. I figured its best that way, bc i'm able to keep living my single life out here and have fun."
Date: "Yeah...So is he married now?"
Me: "No, not that I know of...."
Me: "you're totally freaked out now, aren't you?"
Date: "oh, no, i just never would have guessed that!"
Me: "yeah...kinda crazy... So what about you?!"
Now that is funny. I think I pulled it off nicely and when he dropped me off I told him it was a joke. But I figured, so long as I'm going on these dates, I might as well have a little fun with it!
